Lohrer Spessartfestwoche
It happens every year: it's the end of July in Lohr am Main. Something's different, something's in the air... yes, it's the Spessartfestwoche Festival week!
From its beginnings in 1946 to today, the "Festwoche" has become one of the most important festivals in the Unterfranken region. Once a year, the Mainlände car park on the river bank is transformed into a colourful, lively festival fairground. A diverse range of fairground attractions offers fun for young and young at heart. Visitors sit together contentedly in the
giant beer tent, enjoying their festival beer.
Snacks such as pretzls with cheese, half a chicken, or knuckle or rolled roast of pork are as much part of the programme as the varied music and entertainments on offer. Anyone who manages to bag a seat in the festival beer garden on a balmy summer evening can count himself lucky.
The Lohrer Spessartfestwoche festival week is far more than just a leisurely beer festival. It is a veritable institution here in our beautiful town. And every year, by the time the closing fireworks display comes around at the latest, there is a sense of joyful anticipation of the following year mixed in with the wistful realisation that it is over once more!
