Meeting place for young people
The youth centre is an open meeting place for young people between the ages of 12 and 18. Here they can listen to music and play table football, darts, football, streetball, or on the Wii. The breakdance and hip­hop courses held here are extremely popular, and there is also a fully equipped rehearsing room for bands. There are two graduate youth social work­ers on site as contact people. They help the young people to look for apprenticeship positions or jobs, and assist them with the organisation of concerts and other events. The two annual exchange weeks with Ouistreham, Lohr’s twin town in France, are also fixtures on the youth centre calendar.

Youth centre for children
All sorts of creative activities and a child­ren’s cinema programme await children aged six to twelve in the youth centre. Rooms can be hired for children’s birth­day parties, and the three­-week holiday activities programme in summer is also very popular. During this
period, the youth centre also offers holiday supervision for the children of people who work in Lohr.
